OUR STORY

My name is Erin and I am the one behind Trouvaille Goldens. My husband, David, and I both grew up in South Dakota and found ourselves in Texas in 2017. I grew up with many different dog breeds, from a Shetland Sheepdog to a Bichon Frise, to a couple of Chihuahuas. When David and I got married in 2014, we got our first dog together, a Mini American Shepherd named Molly. She is a wonderful dog, still going strong at 9 years old. When David and I moved to Texas, I started getting into dog sports like Agility and Obedience with Molly. I started making friends that did both sports and conformation showing, and I found the idea of conformation showing really interesting. Molly unfortunately was not an AKC registered dog and already spayed by this time, so we agreed to add a show prospect to our family. We picked Golden Retrievers. From there we met my mentor, Amanda of Aubergine Goldens, who sold us our first show prospect, Mulligan.

About Trouvaille Goldens

I named my kennel Trouvaille, because of all the luck I had getting into goldens. Mulligan was my trouvaille, my "lucky find." He was a wonderful puppy and grew into a wonderful adult dog. He's my first AKC Champion, and just a wonderful example of the breed in both temperament and structure.

I am a member of the Golden Retriever Club of America (GRCA), a member of the Dallas - Fort Worth Metro Golden Retriever Club (DFWMGRC), and a member of the Natural State Golden Retriever Club (NSGRC). I breed following the GRCA Code of Ethics, and complete health testing on all of my breeding dogs.

I am breeding to provide healthy and happy goldens, while preserving the breed for the future.

There are many opportunities to learn more about goldens in person in the area. The Dallas Fort Worth Golden Retriever Club meets at least 6 times a year, there are two dog shows in Dallas, and one in Fort Worth every year. If you'd like to meet in person at one of these events, please reach out!
